Cormatin castle
The grandest Louis XIII (1628) apartments remaining in France, with painted, sculpted and gold-leafed panelling and ceilings.
Fully furnished with tapestries, vast stone staircase (1623), -picturesque kitchen, and drawing-room decorated in 1900 for an Opera director. 25 acres of grounds, flower borders, extensive box maze, old fashioned kitchen garden, etc.
Tea room (open afternoons in the summer).
2024 guided visits
- From April 6 to November 3, 2024, 7 days a week: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.* and 2 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.*
- Open continuously from July 14 to August 18: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.*
- From October 7 to 31: 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.*
- From November 9 to 11: 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.*
* Last arrival time for the interior visit. You can then stay in the garden until sunset.
